Welcome to Acatalepsy's second EMP/APT meme! Our players suggested this meme as a way to advertise the game and toy around prior to our Test Drive Meme on October 21st. We won't be giving out the prompts ahead of time, but here's a fun clue! . . . Astoria has some fun things planned for the Circle, okay. Anyway! Some quick facts about Acatalepsy before we drive in! ✔️ Astoria is the game's main NPC! She is usually around during your time at the Temple. ✔️ The TDM always takes place in the Temple of Beginnings, the home-base of the Game! We will have several prompts available for the players to choose from. ✔️ Expect some light-hearted shenanigans for the TDM. ;) The last TDM can be found here! ✔️ Established characters will be at the Temple to greet the potential new characters. ✔️ the TDM threads are considered canon if the players so choose! ✔️ Acatalepsy has a 100 player cap. You may app/reserve one character per round. We currently have 83/100 players in game. ✔️ Reserves open October 24th at 12 AM EST. ✔️ Because of how close we are to the player cap, there will be a 18 player reserve cap. This means that 18 new players will be allowed to reserve. ✔️ Returning players will not be affected by the reserve cap. ✔️ Acatalepsy has an eight (8) character cast cap. Here is our taken list! ✔️ Applications open November 1st and close November 5th. ✔️ Reserves will be given first priority. People who do not reserve can still apply in the case of more slots becoming available post AC (aka if all 17 reserves do not app), but will be considered after reserved applications are processed. ✔️ We have an every-other-month app cycle! ACATALEPSY 101 Acatalepsy is a plot-driven world-hopping RPG, in which characters travel from world to world through the powers of Astoria, the Head Witch of the Circle that your character has been drafted into. All magical items are nerfed upon arrival, but Astoria allows you to keep one (1) magical weapon/weapon. It may not work within the Temple of Beginnings, but it may work on your travels. Only time will tell. To make up for the lack of powers, your character is gifted an ability by Astoria herself. If you ask why? Astoria will simply smile and say, Because. ♥ . That gift can be anything from creating fire to creating spontaneous birthday cakes to rain from the sky for about an hour -- however, Astoria does not grant anything too game-breaking to her Circle members. She does, however, get creative in her gifts -- she likes to think she's funny. Every decision a character makes can change the course of the game, and Astoria keeps a watchful eye over those in her service. The universe is full of problems, troubles, war -- and your character, through their travels, has the opportunity to alter fate. Hang on tight. The universe, as Astoria likes to say, awaits. TELL US MORE: tifa is a pretty iconic video game character for a reason - she has a lot of emotional depth and flaws but ultimately is a loyal friend who cares deeply for those important to her. she is a martial artist and can kick anyone's ass probably
POTENTIAL MAGICAL POWER? molecular transmutation. through punching or kicking an object to the point of destruction, tifa is able to reconstruct or reform it in a way that she prefers — she can unlock locks, make holes in doors, alter the forms of weapons, etc. In its most rudimentary form (i.e. the form she will be entering the game with), she is limited to smaller objects, and cannot inherently change the form or mass of the object (for example, she wouldn't be able to turn a sword into a pile of foam, but she would be able to make the sword bend, sharpen or dull the blade, or do other things to it that don't interfere with the integrity of its current state).

TELL US MORE: A college drop out with no major aspirations aside from surviving young adulthood, astral projects thanks to a bizarre god bestowing the power on her. TELL US MORE: A teen girl from the middle ages who became a witch and curses people for revenge and funsies. Morgana's a stand offish, difficult and prudish girl who was once very religious but now she's exactly the kind of quiet teen you experience in Hot Topic who is buying a band tee and the Nightmare Before Christmas eyeshadow palette? She doesn't get along with people and insults everyone. It's fine
POTENTIAL MAGICAL POWER? The ability to turn into a cat! Different kinds of cats? Or maybe dream walking if people are okay with Morgana, the girl who spends most of her time on screen in the main game heckling people into letting her curse their enemies for them into their dreams?

POSSIBLY APPING: this is pretty tentative but bakugou katsuki from my hero academia...
TELL US MORE: he's an explosive tryhard, constantly angry and pissed off, can barely carry a conversation without making death threats or cursing. he's getting a LITTLE better from being a huge asshole. he used to be much worse, he's still pretty horrible, he's just a mess.
POTENTIAL MAGICAL POWER? i uhhh barely have any ideas please help me with this tbh because he's actually kind of antisocial so i'd like something that he might struggle with but also that might possibly help with CR for him...? all i can think of so far are silly ideas like money generation or localized weather manipulation so he can grumpily walk around in a rainstorm when he's in a bad mood (which is always)

POSSIBLY APPING: Utena Tenjou from...Revolutionary Girl Utena
TELL US MORE: Utena's a teenage girl from a living Escher painting/Eldritch abomination of a school that is seemingly ruled by an all powerful student council. She's unwittingly made the "Engaged" to an equally mysterious and powerful(?) fellow student, Anthy Himemiya, or the Rose Bride.

Utena herself is a plucky and tomboyish teenage girl who is good to the point of naivete and wants to be a prince bc she's traumatized but we'll get into that later and so kind of embodies all the traits of a prince. Or tries too! She's also surprisingly a badass when given the opportunity.
POTENTIAL MAGICAL POWER? Shadow manipulation! Basically Utena will be able to peel off her shadow and have it move independently of her (sort of like Peter Pan.) A couple other ideas I had were dreamwalking (able to travel within the dreams of others) and area disruption, as in she could somehow alter or change the area around her in some way for brief periods of time, like a small-scale illusion.
